Forklift Operator - 1st Shift
Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
As a Forklift Operator at Pratt Industries - Hammond, you will play an essential role in maintaining the flow of materials by moving various sized units and products to the correct staging areas. You will also maintain accurate records of inventory locations, perform basic equipment maintenance, assist with general operations, and ensure housekeeping duties are completed. Leadership in training and assisting fellow team members, including machine operators and helpers.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment as well as becoming Pratt Forklift Certified.
Quality Assurance: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that materials and equipment are handled with care to prevent damage.
Operational Efficiency: Support general operations by performing duties efficiently and accurately.
Training & Development: Participate in training programs to stay up to date with company procedures and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records and ensure necessary equipment maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
Flexibility & Teamwork: Support coworkers in various tasks and be available to work weekend shifts when needed.
Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Candidates with previous experience in the corrugating industry, forklift operation, or working with warehouse management systems are preferred.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift materials. Certifications: Lift Truck Operator License (must be maintained).
