Speech Language Pathologist Assistant

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in a charter school setting in Aurora, Colorado. The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to help students improve communication, language, articulation, social communication, and related skills that support academic success and daily functioning.

The ideal candidate is passionate about working with children, collaborative with educators and families, and committed to helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement speech and language treatment plans developed by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

• Provide individual and small-group therapy sessions to students with communication disorders.

• Assist students with articulation, language development, fluency, social communication, and other speech-related goals.

• Document student progress, collect therapy data, and maintain accurate records.

• Prepare therapy materials and assist with classroom-based speech and language interventions.

• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families to support student success.

• Monitor student performance and communicate observations to the supervising SLP.

• Support compliance with IEP goals and special education requirements.

• Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and school-based initiatives as needed.

• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district, state, and federal regulations.

Skills and Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant studies, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a related field.

• Active Colorado Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license or eligibility for licensure.

• Experience working with children in educational, clinical, or pediatric settings.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Previous experience supporting students in a K-12 school setting.

• Knowledge of special education processes and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

• Experience working with diverse student populations and varying communication needs.
