Medical Assistant - Part-time

Part-Time Medical Assistant (MA)We are seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Lynnwood team. In this hourly, part-time position, you will support both clinical and front office operations to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience. You will work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to room patients, perform point-of-care testing (POCT), complete blood draws, and assist with front desk responsibilities. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant with at least one year of experience who is comfortable balancing direct patient care with administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting.What You'll DoRoom patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and reason for visit in the electronic medical record (EMR)Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits, procedures, and treatments in accordance with clinic protocolsPerform point-of-care testing (POCT) such as rapid tests, urinalysis, glucose checks, and other bedside diagnostics as orderedPerform blood draws and other specimen collection following proper labeling, handling, and safety proceduresAssist providers during examinations, minor procedures, and treatments as neededMaintain exam room and clinical supply inventory, ensuring rooms are clean, stocked, and organizedSupport front office operations including patient check-in and check-out, scheduling, and appointment confirmationsVerify patient information, insurance, and necessary forms; collect copays and process basic billing-related tasksAnswer phones, respond to patient inquiries within scope, and route messages appropriately to clinical staffDocument all patient care activities accurately and timely in the EMR following clinic and regulatory standardsFollow infection control, safety, and quality guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staffCollaborate with the care team to support patient flow, reduce wait times, and ensure a positive patient experienceParticipate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and compliance activities as required by the departmentQualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or similar clinical settingHigh school diploma or equivalentCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent trainingCurrent Medical Assistant certification/registration (as required by state or employer policy)Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start dateProficiency with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting in an electronic medical record (EMR)Demonstrated experience performing point-of-care testing (POCT) and blood draws/phlebotomyComfort working in both back office (clinical) and front office (administrative) rolesStrong communication and customer service skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staffExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentAbility to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policiesWillingness and availability to work part-time, with flexibility in scheduling as needed by the Lynnwood clinicAs a physician-founded and led organization, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare is what inspires us.
