Pulmonary Critical Care Physician

The Pulmonary Critical Care Physician conducts comprehensive assessments, physical exams, and interpret diagnostic tests for pulmonary and critical care conditions.

Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with best practices for acute and chronic pulmonary disorders.

Oversee patient care in critical care units and pulmonary clinics, administering specialized therapies as needed.

Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams for integrated patient management and care coordination.

Educate patients and families on pulmonary diseases, treatment options, and disease prevention strategies.

The Pulmonary Critical Care Physician maintains accurate medical records and documentation of patient interactions.

Engage in or lead research initiatives contributing to advancements in pulmonary and critical care medicine.

Stay updated on current medical literature, guidelines, and technological advancements.

Responsible for signing in/out when attending, covering a range of Critical Care services, and ensuring resident training and development within Internal Medicine/Critical Care Service.

Comply with Residency review documentation and perform administrative duties related to resident training as directed.

Provide healthcare services to VA patients, accessing medical records for patient care purposes.

Pulmonary Critical Care Physician participates in on-call rotations as required, continuously updating medical knowledge and practices.

Pulmonary Critical Care Physician - Requirements

• Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Certifications: Must be Board certification in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.
• Licensure: State medical license and DEA registration.
• Experience: Proficiency in diagnostic procedures, including bronchoscopy, pulmonary function tests, and interpretation of imaging studies and previous experience in Pulmonary Critical Care medicine.
