Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Pediatric Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Dakota license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Special Requests: - Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. - Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and whether the facility was a teaching facility. - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. - RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.

Unit Details: - Patient ratios: Days 1:4, Nights 1:5. - Adult and pediatric Med Surg patients; common diagnoses include UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD. - Common drips include electrolytes, hypertensive medications, and diuretics; RNs do not titrate drips and do not titrate hypertensive/hypotensive medications. Diuretic infusions are rare. - Charge nurse is present on each shift and takes an assignment. - Support staff: 2:15 - 2 nurse aids on days; 1 nurse aid on nights. - Pediatrician is not in house but is on call for pediatric patients; pediatric patients are not managed by the hospitalist. - No vents on the unit; occasional BiPAP is managed primarily by RT. - ICU monitors telemetry and reads strips; Med Surg/Peds nurses apply telemetry to patients.

Shift & Scheduling: - Day/night rotation; 7-7 with self-scheduling. - Weekends as needed. - No holiday requirement.

Floating Requirements: - First to float. - May float to ED/ICU for 1:1s as needed.

7 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
