Description LAZ Parking is hosting a Hiring Event on Tuesday October 13th!Hiring for Part time Event Staff at $15/hour and Ambassador roles at $17.25/hour!Where: Bagley Mobility Hub garage (1501 Wabash St. Detroit, MI 48216)When: Tuesday, October 13th from 10 AM-4 PM!You will meet with one of our Detroit hiring managers to discuss the position and your work history!Please bring 2 forms of ID and a resume if you have one!

The Spirit of the Position: The Event Staff / Garage Attendant is the front line personnel responsible for greeting, engaging and interacting with all customers entering and exiting the facility. The position requires cash/credit card handling, making correct change, monitoring transactions, directing traffic entering/exiting the facility, and more!

Employee Referral Program:

$50 for a hired PT referral

$100 for a hired FT referral

$250 for any referral in good standing after 90 days.

The requirements are that the candidate must put the employees name on their application OR provide the employees name that referred at the time of interview.

What will I do?

• Meet and greet each customer with courtesy and great customer service.
• Collect the parking fees and provide correct change.
• Understand and know how to handle different types of parkers; i.e. tenants, visitors, employees, administration, etc.
• Understand the surroundings and building area in order to answer questions.
• Complete the daily report.
• Assist in staffing the exit or entry booth during peak collection hours in order to facilitate exit/entry should problems occur.
• Communicate with management, supervisors and traffic directors.
• Answer customer service questions concerning parking and answer general customer inquiries in a courteous, professional and effective manner, referring questions to the supervisor when applicable.
• Determine traffic flow in times of equipment failure or during periods of construction.
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.
• Demonstrate the ability to seek improvement.
• Field additional duties if they are assigned.

Skills:

• Willingness to be flexible, work multiple facility locations.
• Ability to handle challenging and at times, emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
• Must be able to make decisions independently and stay firm on decisions made (not easily persuaded).

Physical Demands:

• Willingness to work in the elements - heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
• Ability to lift, push and pull at least 10 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk and run for extended periods of time.
• Ability bend, stoop, squat and lift frequently throughout a shift.
