Principal Product Manager
Q6 Cyber
Principal Product Manager
We are seeking our first Principal Product Manager to lead the evolution of Q6 Cyber's market-leading e-crime intelligence platform. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will serve as the strategic bridge and neutral arbiter between our world-class threat intelligence researchers, our established engineering organization, and our enterprise financial services clients. In this foundational role, you will take ownership of a mature product suite, moving beyond ad-hoc feature requests to build a disciplined, data-driven product lifecycle. Your primary mission is to translate high-level intelligence insights and client needs into rigorous technical requirements that enable our engineering teams to build with precision and speed.
Roles and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Roadmap Ownership: Partner with the CEO, CTO, and SVP Intelligence Operations to define and maintain a transparent product roadmap that balances long-term platform scalability with immediate market opportunities. The "Neutral Arbiter": Act as the final decision-maker on feature prioritization, using market data and ROI analysis to resolve conflicting demands from Sales, Research, and Engineering. Technical Requirements Lockdown: Translate "intelligence concepts" into detailed, unambiguous user stories and technical specifications. Serve as the gatekeeper to ensure requirements do not shift once a development cycle has begun. Bridging the "Gap": Work closely with the Research and Customer Success teams to identify "delivery gaps" in our current intelligence offerings and ensure Engineering has the clarity needed to close them. Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the hardening and optimization of our mature core products, identifying opportunities to sunset legacy features or introduce high-impact innovations in the digital underground space. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the "Voice of the Product" to external clients and internal teams, ensuring every stakeholder understands the why behind our product decisions.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Technical Fluency: You have a deep understanding of data-heavy systems, APIs, and schemas. You must be able to earn the respect of a highly technical engineering team by speaking their language. Subject Matter Expertise: You possess a working knowledge of the fraud and cybercrime landscape (e.g., ATO, payment fraud, dark web ecosystems) and understand how financial institutions operationalize threat data. Proven "First PM" Experience: You have successfully navigated the transition from founder-led or engineering-led product development to a formal product management process in a startup or growth-stage environment. Conflict Resolution & EQ: You are a skilled diplomat who can say "no" to stakeholders while maintaining strong collaborative relationships across the organization. Analytical Mindset: You rely on data and forensic-level detail rather than intuition to make product decisions. Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written English skills are required to document complex technical needs for engineers and value propositions for clients.
Compensation: We offer a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits package. Salary will be determined based on experience, skills and geographic location. To apply, please send a cover letter and CV to View email address on click.appcast.io with the subject line: "Principal Product Manager"
Q6 Cyber was founded in 2016 to address a growing gap in how financial institutions detect and prevent fraud and cybercrime. As the dark web matured into a sophisticated marketplace for stolen data and financial crime activity, the founding team saw that financial institutions lacked visibility into where attacks were being planned and enabled. Q6 was built on the belief that monitoring threat actors and underground ecosystems directly would allow institutions to act earlier, reducing losses before fraud ever reaches customers or systems. The company's mission has remained focused on proactive intelligence that leads to real prevention, not just detection.
Q6 Cyber delivers a threat intelligence platform focused on monitoring the digital underground, including the dark web and other covert online channels where cybercriminals operate. The platform identifies early indicators of fraud, compromised data, and emerging attack methods, allowing customers to intervene before incidents occur. Unlike traditional security tools that surface alerts after an attack is underway, Q6 emphasizes actionable intelligence that fraud and security teams can operationalize quickly. Its solutions are designed primarily for banks, credit unions, and financial services organizations that need to protect assets, customers, and brand trust.
Both profitable and private equity-backed, Q6 has established strong credibility in a market that highly values proactive fraud prevention. They have helped financial institutions identify and mitigate hundreds of millions of dollars in fraud losses, demonstrating clear and substantial ROI.
It serves a broad range of customers, from smaller financial institutions to large global banks, and operates in a market that remains underpenetrated, as many institutions have not fully adopted dark-web intelligence as part of their security stack.
In August 2025, Q6 Cyber received a strategic growth investment from Charlesbank Capital Partners. The funding is intended to support expansion of the product portfolio, go-to-market scale, geographic growth, and potential acquisitions. This is an exciting time to join the company due to the growth trajectory and aspirations, and associated equity upside.
Q6 consists of a lean, mission-driven team working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment. Q6 embodies the following practices:
- Accountability in one's work
- Meritocracy and a flat organization
- Willingness to take on any challenge and dig into any project
- Building solutions with a real, tangible impact
