Compliance Specialist

Pay Range: $26.00 to $32.00 Per Hour, Depends on Experience (DOE) Location: City Heights Status/Hours: Full Time/Non-Exempt Summary The Compliance Specialist is responsible for providing operational support and will report to the Chief Compliance & Risk Management Officer. The position will provide administrative support, project management and compliance investigation assistance as directed. Coordinates the update and tracking of policies, procedural documents and other compliance documents in accordance with regulations. The Compliance Specialist will assist with compliance audits to effectively assess the company’s conformance to applicable company standards, processes and requirements. Responsibilities Provide administrative and general compliance support to the Chief Compliance& Risk Management Officer in such areas as scheduling/coordinating meetings, document drafting, correspondence, reports and filing Maintain documentation related to compliance audits, complaints, corrective actions, and follow-up actions. Work with Quality Improvement Department to ensure timely delivery and completion of compliance training and assists with identification of training needs Participate in committee meetings to ensure agenda and supporting documentation is prepared, takes notes and documents action items, presents information as needed and serves as an information source relative to compliance activities Prepare detailed reports and presentations specific to audits, investigations, productivity, and patient complaint tracking database Provide recommendations to improve documentation, processes, correct any discrepancies discovered during compliance audits, and prevent reoccurrence Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Chief Compliance & Risk Management Officer informed of the progress of compliance efforts Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures. Review internal policies and procedures and make recommendations as needed for compliance Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to Chief Compliance & Risk Management Officer. Job Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree Certification required: Current valid CPR certificate Experience: 2-5 years’ experience operating within a highly regulated or compliance environment and experience managing multiple projects and timelines. Verbal and Written Skills to perform the job: Bilingual preferred. Familiarity with basic word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Accurate keyboarding skills. Technical knowledge and skills required to perform the job : Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. Demonstrate high levels of self-initiation and direction. Knowledge of communities we serve. Knowledge and experience working in medical settings and interacting collaboratively with medical teams. Skill in analyzing situations and making timely decisions. Excellent attention to detail. Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Physical and Mental Requirements Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
