Distribution Center Manager in Training (Chino, CA)

Leadership Development Program – Distribution Center Manager‑in‑Training Base Pay Range: $85,000–$92,000 Role Overview We’re seeking an experienced operations professional to join our 18–24 month Leadership Development Program as a Distribution Center Manager‑in‑Training. The role involves daily warehouse operations while developing leadership skills and business acumen needed to manage a distribution center. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise warehouse teams to ensure safety, productivity, and engagement. Support operational planning, inventory accuracy, and on‑time delivery. Collaborate on staffing strategies, performance evaluations, and employee development. Participate in structured training, mentoring, and leadership projects. Prepare for future relocation and promotion into a Distribution Center Manager role. Execute daily operations including monitoring productivity, quality, and safety. Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring receiving, storage, assembly (if applicable), and distribution of all items. Aid in inventory control training and execution of cycle counts and physical inventories. Troubleshoot and resolve inventory control discrepancies. Perform relocation, replenishment and consolidation of product as required. Monitor daily production and performance, reallocating resources as needed. Assist with scheduling staffing to meet changing daily business needs. Supervise and provide direction for associates. Assist with interviewing, hiring recommendations, and performance conversations. Assist with ensuring all records and reports are prepared timely and effectively. Conduct safety programs, training and certifications for associates. Develop and execute strategies for recognition, engagement and teambuilding. Monitor labor hours, consult on budgetary and operational impact. Assist with coaching, counseling and discipline to hold associates accountable for performance. Observe experienced associates to acquire knowledge of procedures and standards. Participate in a learning project assignment and deliver results aligned to project objectives. Qualifications Minimum 5 years operations experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred; experience may substitute for degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse systems (WMS, TMS, ERP). Strong communicator with passion for developing people and driving change. Open to travel for training and project work (estimated 30%). Relocation as part of career journey. Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must be able to pass a driver’s road skills test and DOT physical after hire.
