Why We Need You

Family Table Collaborative brings people together around food while addressing food insecurity on Cape Cod. Our growing catering and events program provides high-quality food and hospitality while generating revenue that directly supports our mission and programs.

We need an organized, client-focused Events Manager who can guide each event from the first inquiry through planning, execution and closeout. Working closely with our culinary team, staff, volunteers and leadership, you’ll bring clear communication, attention to detail and hands-on problem-solving to ensure our events are well planned, appropriately staffed and successfully delivered.

What You’ll Accomplish

Build strong client relationships. Serve as the primary contact for catering and event inquiries. Guide clients through their options, meetings, site visits and the full planning process, creating a positive experience that encourages repeat and referral business.

Keep every event organized. Take ownership of FTC’s catering pipeline, event calendar and event documentation, managing each event from inquiry and booking through execution and closeout.

Bring people and logistics together. Determine staffing needs and coordinate event staff, bartenders and volunteers. Work with the culinary team, venues and vendors to arrange rentals, equipment, transportation, setup, service and breakdown.

Deliver well-run events. Lead or oversee on-site execution for larger, complex or priority events. Troubleshoot problems while maintaining a professional, positive client experience and keeping teams coordinated.

Support responsible business growth. Follow up promptly on inquiries and build relationships with local venues and vendors. Ensure pricing accurately reflects food, staffing, rentals, management fees and other applicable charges.

Maintain high standards. Uphold FTC’s expectations for hospitality, food safety, responsible alcohol service and professionalism. Stay aware of applicable food-service, catering and alcohol-service requirements, and maintain appropriate event permit and compliance documentation.

What We’re Looking For

Organization and follow-through. You can manage multiple events, deadlines and changing priorities without losing track of the details. You bring strong project-management and time-management skills.

Communication and client service. You communicate clearly in writing and conversation, enjoy working with people and keep clients informed throughout the planning process.

Collaboration and coordination. You work effectively with culinary teams, staff, volunteers, vendors, clients and leadership, helping everyone understand what is needed for a successful event.

Calm, practical problem-solving. You remain solutions-oriented in a fast-paced environment, exercise sound professional judgment and are comfortable taking a hands-on approach when challenges arise.

Attention to detail. You are careful and accurate with event documentation, pricing, staffing and logistics, recognizing how these details shape both the client experience and event operations.

Comfort with technology. You are comfortable using Google Workspace and event-management, invoicing or project-management systems.

Relevant experience: Three or more years in catering, hospitality, event planning, venue management or a related field are preferred. Experience coordinating catered events, weddings, corporate events, nonprofit events or private functions is strongly preferred.

Safety knowledge and certifications: Knowledge of Massachusetts food-service and alcohol-service requirements is preferred. TIPS and ServSafe certifications are preferred; willingness to obtain both upon hire is required.

Location and transportation: You must live on Cape Cod or relocate before your start date, and have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to event locations as required.

Schedule and work environment: This full-time, year-round role has a flexible schedule based on FTC’s catering and event calendar. Evening, weekend and occasional holiday availability is required for scheduled events. You’ll work from FTC’s South Yarmouth location as needed and travel to venues throughout Cape Cod and surrounding areas. This hands-on role may involve periods of standing and walking, as well as assisting with setup and breakdown when necessary.
