Staffing Coordinator - The Laurels of Charlottesville

Job Description The Laurels of Charlottesville is seeking a Full-Time Staffing Coordinator for our premiere 120 bed sub-acute rehab/skilled nursing facility. We’re seeking an experienced individual with a great attitude and a willingness to step in to support the nursing department in times of need. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with a current certification or current Licensed Practical Nurse. Job Responsibilities: Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts. Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardiness. Communicating with Unit Managers, ADON, and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation, training and scheduling for newly hired employees. Informing the supervisor(s) of last minute shift changes ensuring proper shift coverage. Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes. Filling time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out. Assisting in recruiting, screening, testing, interviewing and orienting prospective employees. Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule. Participating in Facility Management meetings as required. Developing staff and promoting a supportive team environment. Developing work schedules by allocating employees in shifts and positions. Assuming responsibility for timekeeping and time off requests. Collaborating with payroll to ensure correct employee compensation. Ensuring compliance with internal and external policies and regulations. Preparing and submitting reports on staffing operations. Requirements: Must have the ability to think outside the box when resolving problems/issues. Prior experience as staffing coordinator or in a similar position required. Experience working with computer systems and software. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
