Part-Time, Non-Exempt | $11.35/hour + tips

Gage & Tollner is looking for experienced Servers to join our brunch team.

We’re a landmarked Downtown Brooklyn oyster and chop house with a lot of history, a busy dining room, and a service style that’s polished without feeling stuffy. We’re looking for people who genuinely like taking care of guests, know how to read a table, and can bring warmth, confidence, and personality to service.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume restaurant, is curious about food and beverage, and wants to be part of a strong, collaborative FOH and BOH team.

The schedule

• Approximately 2–3 shifts per week to start
• Must be available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Primarily brunch shifts to start
• Opportunity to move into dinner shifts in the future
• Part-time, 29 hours or fewer per week

What we’re looking for

• 1–2 years of serving experience, ideally in a high-volume or hospitality-focused restaurant
• Warm, confident, professional guest service
• Strong communication and teamwork
• Good working knowledge of food and beverage, with an interest in continuing to learn
• Ability to stay organized and composed when things get busy
• Reliability, punctuality, and a team-first attitude

What you’ll do

• Guide guests through the dining experience with warmth, confidence, and attention to detail
• Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, wine, cocktails, and other beverages
• Make thoughtful recommendations and answer guest questions
• Accurately enter orders and communicate clearly with FOH and BOH teams
• Anticipate guest needs and help create memorable hospitality moments
• Execute our steps of service consistently and professionally
• Complete opening, closing, sidework, cleanliness, and sanitation responsibilities
• Support the overall flow of service and jump in wherever the team needs you

Physical requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, this position requires prolonged standing and walking, frequent use of stairs, working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
