ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional patient care in a multi-culture unit that accommodates various acuities including ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg patients. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ICU background along with the ability to adapt to dynamic clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a combined acuity setting.
• Monitor and manage patients with diverse medical conditions including sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative complications.
• Titrate medications and drips as required for patient management.
• Utilize bedside cardiac monitors and perform 12-lead ECGs on ICU patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in floating among ICU, PCU, and Med-Surg units as needed to maintain competency.
• Handle patient assignments efficiently while adhering to established ratios.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Strong clinical skills in critical patient care settings.
• Current ACLS and BLS certification.
• Ability to complete and pass dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing.
• Experience with titratable and set rate infusions.

Schedule and Expectations

• 12-hour night shifts with guaranteed hours of 36 hours per week.
• Must be available to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations.
• Must float to designated units as needed to maintain a well-rounded skill set.
• Expected to manage 3 patients when serving as primary care nurse without nurse aide assistance.

Unit Overview

• Multi Care Unit providing various levels of care within one unit.
• Unit has a total of 10 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio varying by acuity level.
• On-site respiratory therapy equipment available including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP.
• Nurse aids are part of the team, taking on 10-15 patients as needed.

Additional Information

All applicants must adhere to a radius rule and must not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN within any facility affiliated with prior organizations within the last year. Candidates should be prepared to engage in a comprehensive orientation program to familiarize themselves with unit expectations and responsibilities.
