Work Environment

The work environment is onsite at our well-appointed hospital, designed to provide both comfort and functionality. You will primarily interact with patients in the orthopedic unit, where a focus on personalized treatment is key to recovery. The typical work schedule is from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing for a structured and productive week.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans developed by licensed Physical Therapists, ensuring all prescribed activities are performed accurately and effectively.
• Provide hands-on therapy using therapeutic exercises and manual techniques, tailored to meet each patient's specific rehabilitation goals.
• Monitor and document patient progress through effective record-keeping and communication, making necessary adjustments to treatment as directed.
• Educate patients on proper exercise techniques and health promotion strategies to facilitate their recovery outside of therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care, participating in team meetings and case discussions about patient treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records in accordance with clinic policies and legal requirements.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with a diverse range of patients experiencing orthopedic conditions, which may include post-surgical recovery, sports injuries, and chronic pain issues. Your compassionate care and professional expertise will be vital to providing support and motivation to patients as they navigate their rehabilitation journey.

Qualifications

• Successful candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
• Current, active state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic setting is required, demonstrating proficiency in therapy practices.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential for delivering safe and effective patient care.
• Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and team members at all levels.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, experience in a hospital-based physical therapy setting and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems can give candidates a competitive edge. We also value ongoing professional development; thus, a commitment to continuous education is encouraged.

Compensation and Benefits
