Medical Lab Scientist

Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist needed for PRN night shift at Phoenixville Hospital. Hours: 10:30pm–7am with 1 weekend per month and 1 winter and 1 summer holiday required. Responsibilities The MLS obtains or receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventive maintenance, and interprets results accurately, acceptably, and within critical limits. The MLS works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines, and validates all data obtained. Night Shift Hours Hours are 10:30pm–7am with 1 weekend per month and 1 winter and 1 summer holiday required. Qualifications Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in clinical/medical laboratory science or equivalent; or completion of a Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science program; or MT-HEW certification will be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Experience Prefer 1 year of experience. Certification and Licensure ASCP or AMT Eligible. Required Skills Computer skills to include use and navigation of laboratory information systems.
