Job Description: 6S Ortho/Med Surg Overflow RN Unit Description: Patients who have undergone bone and joint reconstructive surgery, joint replacement, orthopedic trauma surgery, or have experienced sports injury. Med/Surg overflow. Remote telemetry monitoring with off the unit station staffed by tech. Patient ages are 18 and older. Patient ratios typically 1:4 but will occasionally flex to 1:5. Unit acts under a team nursing model

Shift: NIGHTS; 7P-7A, weekdays, EOW, float - 36hrs or 48hrs available Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 or 48hr contract options - whatever RN prefers - OT after 48hrs for 4x12s Orientation Schedule: Orientation held every other week on Thursdays and Fridays. RN will be in computer lab all day Thursday, then Friday until lunch, will report to facility to get badge made and then report to unit to meet staff/manager and obtain schedule

Patient Ratios: 1:5 Patient Ratios Years of Experience Required: 2 Years of RN experience MINIMUM and at least 1+ years of in-specialty experience New Travelers Accepted: 1st Time Travelers Accepted Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend required Certs Required: BCLS; (ACLS, NIH preferred) Skill Requirements: Telemetry, IV Start, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, Argatroban, Amiodarone, Dopamine (for renal perfusion only), CPMs, Orthopat, Constavac, Hemovac, Wound Vacs, traction. Float Required: Clinician can be floated within scope to meet facilities needs Blocked Schedule Requests: Manager open to accommodating if it fits her units needs. Radius Requirement: 100mi. Radius Rule (75-99mi. can be sent for facility approval) NO LOCALS ACCEPTED Pending License Accepted: YES - can submit with a pending WV/Compact RN license. PERM EMPLOYEES CANNOT RETURN AS TRAVELERS FOR 2 YEARS AFTER LAST DATE WORKED PERM. Flu Shot: Please DO NOT SEND ANYONE WHO REFUSES FLU SHOT WITHOUT MEDICAL PROOF. CAMC requires all personnel take flu vaccine unless they have allergy documented by an allergist or physician record. CAMC FLU SEASON IS OCTOBER 1st - MARCH 31st. NOT REQUIRED OUTSIDE OF THAT WINDOW.
