Maintenance Technician

This role focuses on the installation, service, and repair of plant equipment in a manufacturing environment. You will complete maintenance assignments with minimal supervision and support safe, reliable operation of production and facility systems. The position requires flexibility to work overtime, off shifts, and weekends when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Work safely at all times and strictly follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and all other safety protocols.
• Install, service, and repair a wide range of plant and facility equipment.
• Apply general knowledge of facilities equipment such as process and vacuum pumps, electrical power and controls, air compressors, chiller systems, pneumatic controls, valves, and HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, blowers, dust collectors, fans, heat exchangers, gearboxes, valves, extruders, and other production support equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace electrical components including circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, solenoids, safety switches, transducers, electro-mechanical relays, solid state relays, and electrical heating systems.
• Perform minor welding repairs, metal cutting, and basic fabrication work as needed to support maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment and accurately complete work order documentation and related facilities support records.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams to support troubleshooting and repairs.
• Operate maintenance shop tools, electrical meters, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other associated tools required to perform maintenance tasks safely and effectively.
• Plan, prioritize, and organize individual work for day-to-day operations, projects, and plant shutdown activities to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout the plant and maintenance shop to support a safe and organized work area.
• Use computer software, including email and office applications, to communicate, document work, and access technical information.

Essential Skills:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Electrical or maintenance trade school or vocational certificate, or 4 years of working experience in a maintenance or electrical field (preferred).
• Experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical repair and preventive maintenance of industrial equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including three-phase power and control circuits.
• Experience with PLC control and PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
• Proficiency in electromechanical maintenance and repair.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and drawings.
• Skill in using voltmeters and other electrical test instruments safely and accurately.
• Basic welding skills for minor repairs and fabrication tasks.
• Experience with HVAC systems and related controls.
• Proficiency with computer software for communication and documentation, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook.
• Ability to safely lift up to fifty-five pounds during an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to safely climb and work from ladders or other above-ground equipment.
• Ability to work effectively in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Completion of an electrical or maintenance trade school or vocational program.
• Experience performing structured preventive maintenance programs in a manufacturing facility.
• Familiarity with industrial pneumatics and hydraulics beyond basic maintenance tasks.
• Experience working with dust collection systems, extruders, and other specialized production support equipment.
• Comfort operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and other powered industrial trucks (certification is a plus if required by site).
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders, projects, and shutdown activities.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with maintenance team members, production staff, and other departments.
• Attention to detail in documentation, safety compliance, and adherence to maintenance procedures.

Work Environment:

This role is based in a manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work as part of a maintenance team of approximately 14 employees, collaborating closely to support production and facilities operations. The position involves regular use of maintenance shop tools, electrical meters, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other industrial equipment. You will work around process and vacuum pumps, air compressors, chiller systems, HVAC units, and a variety of mechanical and electrical systems. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe boots, is required, and you must consistently follow all safety policies and procedures. The schedule may include overtime, off shifts, and weekend work depending on operational needs.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, TX.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $64480.00 - $68640.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k.
