Role Expectations

• Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing standardized assessments and observation methods.
• Create customized treatment protocols that address immediate targets and long-term goals pertaining to communication, cognition, or swallowing.
• Deliver individualized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to ensure coordinated care plans.
• Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond clinical sessions.
• Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring seamless continuity of care throughout the patient's journey.
• Maintain precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Keep abreast of advancements in your field through ongoing education and professional collaboration.

Educational Credentials

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech Language Therapist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting employment.
