IT Systems Analyst

Job Summary:

The IT System Analyst I is responsible for supporting report automation, data operations, business process improvement, and workflow automation for the DHS Office of Homeland Security Statistics. This role involves analyzing business requirements, developing technical solutions, testing, and creating technical documentation to enhance reporting and data visualization capabilities. Responsibilities:

Analyze business requirements and develop technical solutions.
Support report automation initiatives using Python, SQL, and related technologies.
Design and maintain automation workflows.
Develop data extraction, transformation, and reporting processes.
Support dashboard development and data visualization efforts.
Assist in database development and management activities.
Conduct testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
Participate in stakeholder meetings and requirements gathering sessions.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
7+ years of IT systems analysis experience.
Proficiency with Python, SQL, Java, Tableau, and web technologies.
Experience developing reporting and automation solutions.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Tableau Developer Certification.
Experience with Power BI.
Federal Government experience.
Experience working in Agile environments.

Special Considerations:

May require participation in stakeholder meetings and collaboration across teams.

Scheduling:

Standard work schedule with potential for flexible hours depending on project needs.
