Transportation Safety Compliance Assistant | Classic Carriers

A Trucking Safety Compliance Assistant , supports a company’s safety and regulatory compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and industry safety standards while maintaining accurate, audit-ready records. Role Overview This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual committed to upholding DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA regulations. The assistant plays a key role in monitoring safety documentation, conducting compliance audits, and coordinating training and incident reporting to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Monitoring: Maintain and update safety-related records such as driver qualification files, incident reports, training records, inspection logs, and ELD logs. Audit Support: Conduct or assist in audits of safety and compliance paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards. Incident Reporting: Support incident documentation by gathering facts, verifying reports, and ensuring proper follow-up. Training Coordination: Organize and schedule safety training, certifications, and employee communications. Regulatory Compliance: Stay current on DOT, FMCSA, and other relevant regulations; prepare for audits and ensure documentation meets requirements. Data Management: Use document management systems or compliance software to track and report safety metrics. Cross-Functional Support: Assist with driver qualification management, vehicle licensing, fuel processes, and compliance reporting. Confidentiality: Protect sensitive safety and compliance information.
