Project Manager - MechanicalPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Mechanical to lead and deliver complex mechanical construction projects, including HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm systems. The role is responsible for overall project performance, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client relationships from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems with proven construction management and leadership skills.Key ResponsibilitiesLead mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and client satisfaction.Develop, manage, and communicate project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; monitor cost performance and implement corrective actions as needed.Coordinate design review, constructability analysis, and value engineering for HVAC, piping, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm systems.Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site trades; develop scopes of work, issue RFIs, review submittals, and manage procurement activities.Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, building codes and applicable standards (including NFPA and local codes).Oversee quality control and commissioning activities for mechanical systems; enforce site safety and environmental requirements in accordance with company and regulatory standards.Prepare and present regular progress reports, change order documentation, risk registers, and project closeout documentation to clients and senior management.Resolve technical and contractual issues, lead client meetings, and act as primary point of contact for project stakeholders.Coordinate with design teams, BIM/VDC resources and other disciplines to ensure effective clash detection, installation sequencing and site logistics.Mentor and develop project engineering and field supervision staff; promote continuous improvement and lessons learned across projects.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent construction experience will be considered.Minimum 7 years of mechanical construction experience with at least 3 years in a project management role delivering HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.Direct experience with fire protection and fire alarm system installation, testing and commissioning.Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors; experience with cost control and change management.Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (NFPA, IMC, IPC, local building codes) and quality/commissioning procedures.Proficiency with project scheduling and management tools (Microsoft Project or Primavera), and experience with AutoCAD and Revit/BIM coordination.Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills; ability to lead multi-discipline teams and negotiate resolution of complex issues.Certifications preferred: PMP, PE (Mechanical), NICET (fire protection), OSHA 30 or equivalent.Valid driver's license; ability to travel to project sites and remain on-site as required.BenefitsPTOHoliday Time401k matchHealth / Vision / Dental Insurance
