Responsibilities: Develop cost estimates from take-off to bid hand-off, including change orders. Analyze material and labor requirements. Attend pre-bid and scope review meetings. Compute and submit bids. Read and understand blueprints thoroughly. Meet with engineers, customers, vendors, and project managers. Inspect project locations to determine labor and materials needed. Contact vendors for pricing and assess equipment leasing costs. Maintain change order documentation in an organized manner. Coordinate and organize estimators as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Knowledge of NEC and Low Voltage Systems. Ability to read specifications and blueprints. Effective communication and customer service skills. Risk analysis capabilities. Experience estimating projects of various sizes. Calm under deadlines and pressure. Excellent math and computer skills, especially in Microsoft or Google Suite. Education Requirements: 8-10 years experience with a High School Diploma, or 6-8 years with an Associate degree, or 2-4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Preferred but not required: Familiarity with Estimating Software like Accubid or ConEst. Experience with on-site, mission-critical projects. Hands-on construction experience. Abilities: Prolonged computer use and sitting. Reach, finger dexterity, listening, speaking, reading, and applying rules.
