Our portfolio includes machines, solutions, services and diamond tools made for professionals who work with hard materials like concrete and stone to shape urban environments of tomorrow.The Sourcing Manager for Husqvarna Construction in Olathe, KS is part of the Sourcing Management Team (SMT) as well as the Site Management Team and contributes to the development and refinement of the sourcing strategy for Husqvarna Construction Division (HCD). They contribute to HCD maximizing its short-, medium-, and long-term profitability and returns to its shareholders. The Sourcing Manager is responsible for driving all sourcing and procurement activities for the local site (Olathe), including, leading and managing the Olathe procurement and SQA team, project sourcing, ensuring procurement compliance and sustainability, coordinating operational sourcing, securing cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability aspects from suppliers. Sourcing is a crucial part of our operations, close collaboration between the sourcing team and the manufacturing operations/logistics department will be key to our success. We are looking for someone with 3-5 years' experience in procurement, preferably on a global level.ResponsibilitiesSourcing Management Team (10%)Represent the Olathe team in leadership team within Sourcing.Define the long-term strategy together with the Site Management Team to align sourcing activities broader business objectives and ensure effective communication; setting joint targets, aligning sourcing projects while understanding business strategies and demand forecast to proactively drive improvements.Define, Plan, execute and track sourcing targets and strategy for the team.Strategic, Operational and Project Sourcing (60%)Lead the operational procurement for the Olathe site to secure quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability.Provide input for monthly financial reviews, reporting cost evolution and sourcing KPIs status.Act as the first escalation point for logistics/manufacturing team regarding supplier delivery or quality issues.Support the team in New Product Development (NPD) projects by identifying and selecting suppliers.Drive operations agenda towards R&D in NPDs (standardization, supplier consolidation, supply resilience, etc.)Support the implementation of global category strategies.Ensure active collaboration with other regions' sourcing teams, contributing to the success of category networks.Define clear local sourcing strategies that build the capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability.Drive cost out programs for HCD, including setting targets, following up on performance, and setting up governance/reportsWork with SMT and R&D to identify new suppliers and ideas for cost-cutting on existing machines.Develops and manages relationships with key and complex suppliers including high-spend and multi-commodity negotiations, to drive innovation and cost savings.Maintain a working knowledge of current business trends including industry changes, cost drivers, pricing, market conditions and economic indicators in order to identify new or alternative suppliers as needed.Conduct Business Review meetings and governance sessions with critical suppliers focused on market intelligence and innovation, while also identifying, mapping and evaluating sourcing risks.Coordinate corporate compliance and sustainability work by driving the procurement part of the overall agenda for the site.Risk Mitigation: (10%)Work with the rest of SMT to set up a resilient supply chain.Identifies, evaluates, and manages risks across multiple commodities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and mitigating potential disruptions.People Management: (20%)Ensure the effective achievement of business objectives through the leadership of the procurement team.Set departmental and individual objectives and KPI's, manage performance, develop and motivate staff, and provide formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.Manage talent within the function and support global talent efforts with Corporate HR.Build relevant functional and continuous improvement skills and capabilities in the workforce.Drive the Husqvarna culture within the team.Critical Functional Skills & KnowledgeSolid knowledge of AS400, MRP processes and basic inventory principles, SAP, and Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)Strong negotiation and strategic mindsetEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering preferred, not required.Experience in R&D, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing or relevant business experience preferably in a manufacturing environment required.We offer benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance at date of hire, a 401(k) with matching and no vesting, an employee purchase discount on Husqvarna products, an education assistance program, first-time home buyer assistance, paid parental leave, paid holidays, and paid vacation.Husqvarna is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to providing equal opportunity in all of our employment practices, including selection, hiring, assignment, re-assignment, promotion, transfer, compensation, discipline and termination.
