Your role with us

As an ultrasound technologist at Salem Health Hospital and Clinics you will play a key role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging to support exceptional patient care across a diverse populationfrom pediatrics through this role your work directly supports clinical decision-making while creating a compassionate and reassuring experience for every patient you serve.

Youll be part of a collaborative and team-based imaging Salem Hospital all sonographers have been registered through the fields gold-standard licensing body the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and collectively hold more than 50 specialty ultrasound team partners closely with radiologists physicians unit clerks and patient transport to ensure each exam runs smoothly and efficiently. On a typical shift you can expect a steady but manageable workflow allowing you to focus on both quality and patient-centered care.

What youll do

• Perform a variety of ultrasound exams including general (abdomen pelvic OB) small parts and breast studies.
• Assist radiologists with invasive procedures ensuring proper use of supplies equipment and safety protocols.
• Tailor imaging techniques to meet the needs of pediatric adolescent and geriatric patients while maintaining exam quality.
• Analyze images for completeness gather additional views as needed and provide thorough documentation with proper patient identification and annotation.
• Correlate sonographic findings with clinical history and prior imaging to assist in diagnosis.
• Maintain adjust and clean ultrasound equipment; promptly report any issues to your supervisor.
• Utilize PACS RIS and HIS systems to manage orders track patient information and ensure accurate billing.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with patients families and healthcare providers protecting patient privacy at all times.
• Support departmental operations by keeping work areas organized assisting colleagues and training others as required.

Required qualifications

• Associates or bachelors degree in Sonography.
• Licensed in Sonography from the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI).

Additional information

• Imaging specialty - Abdomen required within one year of hire from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
• Imaging specialty - Ob/Gyn required within one year of hire from theAmerican Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
