To support coding accuracy and compliance, the full-time Outpatient Coder will abstract and code clinical information from various medical records, ensuring correct diagnoses and procedure coding while working remotely. Key responsibilities Abstract and code clinical data from inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department records, ensuring accurate sequencing and coding Maintain compliance with external regulatory requirements and internal policies, including HIPAA standards Track productivity and maintain a 95% quality rating in coding accuracy Required qualifications Minimum of 2 years of coding experience in a healthcare setting Knowledge of coding conventions and rules established by AHIMA, AMA, AHA, and CMS Familiarity with JCAHO standards and coding compliance regulations Proficiency in using coding software and various computer applications Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
