Registered Nurse (RN) - SCU/IMC

Location: Damariscotta, Maine

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Available shifts are 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM with guaranteed hours of 36 per week.

Job Description: The SCU at this intermediate community access hospital is not an ICU and does not care for vented patients. We rarely administer drips, and an experienced telemetry nurse would excel in this role. The unit features telemetry, med-surg, and critical care patients in our 8-bed facility with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 4:1.

Responsibilities:

• Provide care for SCU, IMC, MS, and swing patients.
• Monitor telemetry patients and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and assist with various medical devices including feeding tubes and chest tubes.
• Engage proactively with the healthcare team to meet high standards of patient care.
• Occasionally float to Med-Surg as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with a focus on telemetry and med-surg/tele units.
• Experience with vasoactive drips and ventilators preferred.
• Current RN licensure appropriate to the position.
