Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Float Nurse Days in a general medical-surgical inpatient setting. This position involves providing nursing care to adult and occasional non-critical pediatric patients, with a focus on flexibility across various units. The role requires adaptability to different patient needs, ensuring quality care and efficient unit operation. Job Details Schedule: Days, 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: 2 or more years of experience in medical-surgical nursing, current BLS certification, and eligibility to work in the state of New Mexico. Preferred Qualifications: ACLS and PALS certifications are preferred. Float: Float: Float rotation may be required. Additional Information: Candidates must have completed fingerprinting process required by the state of New Mexico prior to start. General Med-Surg inpatient nursing duties include caring for adult patients with occasional non-critical pediatric patients. Scrub color is flexible, and EMR system used is MedHost. No on-call schedule is required; on-call occurs only if census flexibility needs arise prior to shift start. The position is a contractor replacement with a start date of 09/14/2026 and end date of 12/14/2026.
