Schedule: Night shift, 12 hrs shifts

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. The RN will provide high-acuity critical care in a Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) caring for patients with complex cardiovascular and postoperative surgical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU patients.

• Monitor and manage fresh postoperative open-heart surgery patients and recognize changes in clinical condition.

• Care for patients with cardiovascular surgery needs, cardiogenic shock, AAA, and other high-acuity cardiac conditions.

• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and critical care interventions while continuously evaluating patient response.

• Maintain accurate Epic documentation and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate complex patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years of Recent Cardiovascular ICU / Cardiothoracic ICU Nursing Experience Required, Including Fresh Open-Heart Patient Experience.

• Current, Active Registered Nurse License Required; Applicable New York Practice Requirements Must Be Met Before Start.

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Certifications Required.

• Epic EMR Experience Required.

• Previous Travel Nursing Experience Required; Must Be Available for 12-Hour Night Shifts.
