Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in PCU required License: Pending license accepted Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required; BSN preferred Must-Have: - Proficient in vent management and telemetry - Experience with IV starts, trach management, and phlebotomy - Must pass EKG exam - Experience with long-term ventilation and pulmonary rehabilitation Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Step Down Unit. The nurse will work on a 1:2-3 patient ratio. Experience in PCU is required. Candidates with first-time traveller experience are welcome. Weekend coverage is required every other week. This position involves floating within the service line to meet facility needs. Skills in accessing and managing ports are essential. The nurse must be capable of managing ventilated patients and performing central line care. Candidates should have experience with telemetry, tracheostomy care, and managing cardiac drips. Phlebotomy skills and preferred ABG draw experience are necessary. The role requires diagnosis management for patients with long-term ventilation needs, including weaning and pulmonary rehabilitation. Candidates must be able to draw blood and properly manage central lines. All applicants are expected to have critical-thinking skills and the ability to manage complex patient needs. This assignment will involve various procedures and close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Candidates should be adaptable, able to work in fast-paced environments, and committed to patient care excellence.
