Medical Assistant OB/GYN Outpatient Clinic

OB/GYN clinic experience is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Position Details

• Location: Los Angeles, CA 90048
• Schedule: 5x8-Hour Days
• Shift: 8-hour shift scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM

Required Qualifications Experience

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient clinic experience
• Minimum 1 year of OB/GYN clinic experience ( Hard Stop Requirement )
• Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills ( Hard Stop Requirement )

Education

• Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program
• High School Diploma or GED

Certifications

• Current BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross only)

Technical Skills

• Epic EMR experience required
• Blood and lab draw proficiency required

Required OB/GYN Procedure Experience

Candidates must have experience assisting with:

• Pap Smears
• Colposcopy (Colpo)
• LEEP Procedures
• Dilation & Curettage (D&C)
• Endometrial Biopsy (EMB)
• IUD Insertions
• IUD Removals
• Nexplanon Insertions/Removals
• Non-Stress Testing (NST)

Candidates with limited experience in multiple procedures may not qualify.

Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties

• Room patients and prepare for examinations
• Obtain and document vital signs
• Record patient histories, medications, and allergies
• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection
• Conduct urine testing and specimen processing
• Administer medications and immunizations
• Assist physicians during OB/GYN examinations and procedures
• Review laboratory results and assist with patient follow-up

OB/GYN Support

• Women's health assessments
• Pregnancy testing
• Pap smear assistance
• Vaginal specimen collection
• Procedural setup and assistance
• Patient education and follow-up care

Administrative Support

• Telephone triage
• Follow-up patient calls
• Patient concerns and complaint resolution
• Quality assurance documentation
• Participation in daily huddles and staff meetings
