Senior Accounting & Payroll Coordinator

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join its finance team. This position will work closely with the accounting manager and other members of the finance team, with primary responsibility for payroll administration and accounts payable functions. The role offers hybrid flexibility following the probationary period. 

Responsibilities:

Payroll

- Process semi-monthly and off-cycle payroll, ensuring accurate calculations, deductions, and employee payments

- Review employee timesheets and payroll information for accuracy prior to processing

- Maintain employee payroll records and process final/termination payments

- Process wage garnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions

- Research and resolve discrepancies involving payroll, benefits, tax withholding, compensation, new hires, leaves of absence, and employee separations

- Prepare recurring payroll reports for accounting leadership and senior finance management

Accounts Payable & Expense Management

- Process AP transactions and review vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval

- Set up and maintain vendor records

- Review and reconcile employee expense reports and corporate credit card statements

- Audit expenses for compliance with company policies and established procedures

- Prepare vendor payments and checks, and coordinate required approvals/signatures

- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience handling both payroll and accounts payable

- Experience within a law firm, professional services organization, or similar environment preferred

- Familiarity with payroll/HRIS and accounting systems

- Strong understanding of payroll processes, deductions, reconciliations, and accounts payable procedures
