Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare accurate, commercially sound cost estimates and quotations for a range of projects. Working closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, project managers and operational teams, you will assess requirements, interpret drawings and specifications, and develop detailed pricing proposals that support successful project delivery. Your responsibilities will include reviewing tender documents, scopes of work and technical information; preparing detailed take-offs, estimates, bills of quantities and quotations; obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor prices; and identifying suitable materials, labour requirements, plant, overheads and potential risks. You will maintain clear records of assumptions, exclusions and revisions, contribute to bid reviews, and support negotiations where required. You will also liaise with internal teams to ensure estimates are practical, competitive and aligned with delivery capabilities, while monitoring market conditions and maintaining up-to-date cost information.


The successful candidate will have previous experience in estimating, costing, quantity surveying or a closely related discipline, ideally within a construction, engineering, manufacturing or project-based environment. You should be confident reading technical drawings, specifications and schedules, and be comfortable using estimating software, spreadsheets and standard office applications. Strong numerical, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise multiple tenders and work accurately under pressure. Commercial judgement, a methodical approach and a commitment to confidentiality are important. Relevant technical qualifications or professional training would be advantageous, although equivalent practical experience will be considered.
