Accounting Specialist

About the role: The Accounting Specialist supports day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on cash application, billing, and accurate financial data entry. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with accounting systems in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. What you will do: Utilize Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains), Excel, and Word to complete daily accounting tasks and reporting. Review figures, postings, and documents to ensure correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper account coding. Research, code, and post cash receipts into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner. Research and apply unallocated cash, resolving discrepancies and ensuring proper allocation. Generate and distribute monthly customer billings. Maintain organized, accurate financial records and documentation. Perform other related accounting duties and projects as assigned. What we are looking for: High school diploma or GED required; degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. At least two years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, or data entry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) strongly preferred. Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of our location; this is a five-day, in-office role.
