As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team and support our mission.Essential DutiesPrepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR) systemResponsible for entering recalls and handling new prescription/prescription refills as directed by the physicianCollaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patient care is delivered seamlessly and safelyMaintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standardsTriage phone calls accordinglyConduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basisMaintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulationsParticipate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledgeOther duties as assignedQualificationsCertification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in gastroenterologyExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, and team membersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyProficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skillsBenefitsCompetitive salaryComprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid time off and paid holidaysProfessional development opportunitiesPositive and collaborative work environmentPhysical DemandsThe employee is frequently required to walk, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee should be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, lift and move up to 25 lbs. The work environment is typically quiet to moderate with standard office and procedure room noise levels.
