Assistant Controller

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking an Assistant Controller in Grand Rapids, MI.Summary:Are you a hands-on accounting leader looking for the next step in your career? We are partnering with a successful and growing organization to identify an Assistant Controller who will play a key role in financial reporting, accounting operations, FP&A support, and process improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with executive leadership, influence financial strategy, and help drive operational excellence while developing a high-performing accounting team.Duties:

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
• Manage consolidations, intercompany accounting, and audit preparation
• Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies
• Assist with ERP enhancement and implementation initiatives
• Mentor and develop accounting professionals while fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in the manufacturing industry
• Experience with month-end close, consolidations, and audit support
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• CPA preferred but not required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.


We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
