Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 18 months Med/Tele RN experience; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a specialty in MedSurg/Tele for an assignment. The position requires a minimum of 18 months of experience in a Med/Tele setting. The nurse will care for post-surgical patients and those with various medical issues. Common diagnoses include small bowel obstructions, general surgery procedures, kidney stones, and fractures. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-6, with surge times potentially reaching 1:7-8. Skills required for this role include tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tube placement, ostomy care, and wound care. Continuous monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills are also essential. Support within the department includes certified nursing assistants and charge nurses available 24/7. The unit is equipped with remote telemetry monitoring and utilizes electronic medical records. Floating may be required based on regional needs and will align with the scope of practice. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays and should be flexible with scheduling, including weekend rotations. Free parking is available on-site.
