About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Float between approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU departments across multiple metro campuses as a dedicated float pool clinician - no permanent home unit assigned
• Provide direct patient care across a variety of conditions including cardiac (A-Fib, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath), stroke, sepsis, renal failure, GI bleed, ETOH, SI, wound care, and COVID
• Perform cardiac monitoring duties including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and telemetry monitoring
• Utilize facility technology and systems including Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell
• Fulfill holiday shift and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Complete an expected 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period, spanning a combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - both Kansas and Missouri licensure (or compact license covering both states) required at time of submission
• Pending licenses are not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Minimum 1-2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Demonstrated skills in telemetry/cardiac monitoring, neuro stepdown, and Med/Surg intermediate care settings
• Must live at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with sheath removal (cardiovascular)
• Feeding tube care and management
• IV therapy skills including port access, blood product administration, and central line care/management

• Gain broad clinical exposure by floating across multiple PCU and Med/Surg Intermediate care units within a well-established metro health system
• Expected weekly hours of 36 hours with a structured 13-week contract and a consistent day shift schedule
