Warehouse Associate/Driver (CDL, Class A or B required)

Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 7,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.We are looking for an experienced CDL driver to join our branch in Houston, Texas. In this important role, you will be responsible for CDL truck driving and long-distance delivery, providing excellent services to our distributors or restaurant customers, and performing efficient warehouse functions. OFF on weekend) and delivery area across TX and LA.Documents, records, and completes driver log when making deliveriesComplies with DOT Rules and regulations and safety navigates the Company vehicleMakes product deliveries and loads delivery trucks in a timely mannerPicks and assembles orders as indicated on the pick listStacks and organizes warehouse palletsAssists receiving with unloading, stocking, and inventory check in a timely mannerInspects received products for damage and volume accuracy and documents accordinglyAccurately stocks inventory in the assigned warehouse location and rotates product inventory to maintain a First-IN, First-OUT (FIFO) food storage systemPartakes in warehouse upkeep and ensures the stockroom is clean and organizedCoordinates with salespersons to assemble urgent deliveries to customersMaintains high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent serviceParticipates in the weekly warehouse meetingsAttend semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekendProvides logistics support for Company events and functions outside of normal working hoursOther duties as assignedObligation to answer to all management as requestedPhysical Requirements:Able to drive manual transmission (10 speed) truckAble to work without sitting for extended periods of time, including standing and walkingAble to talk, hear, climb, balance, reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds frequentlyAble to handle and move 50+ pounds assisted frequentlySpecific vision abilities are required, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and maintain clarity.Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hoursWorking Conditions:Noise Level: Normal to loudLocation: Indoor in the office or at customer sites (restaurants, wholesalers, distributors, etc.), travellingOther Requirements:Conversational level English required; Business level English preferred;Bilingual in Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, or Japanese is a plusHas and maintains a valid CDL driver's license and a clean driving recordSit down or reach truck forklift operation experience requiredAble to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as neededMaintains a positive attitudeWorks efficiently both independently and in a teamAdapts to frequent changes in assignments and workloadHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 1 year of general warehousing experience requiredMinimum 2 year of truck driving/delivery experience requiredWillingness to travel: 100% requiredMust be over 21 years old (DOT regulation)Knowledge and Skills:Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detailPossesses basic mathematical knowledge such as counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.Has strong communications and interpersonal skillsDemonstrates awareness of proper warehouse safety proceduresForklift training and/or certification preferredKnowledge of Japanese foods and liquors preferredDisclaimers:This position description is not to be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements.
