Staff Accountant

Job Description The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations of a growing manufacturing company. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close activities, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to contribute in a hands-on environment where continuous improvement and teamwork are highly valued. Worksite Location: This onsite position is located in the Minneapolis Metro Area. Salary Range $75,000 - $85,000/year base salary. Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Complete monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
- Assist with inventory accounting and manufacturing-related financial reporting.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card activity, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with sales and use tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Prepare schedules and support documentation for annual audits.
- Assist with financial analysis and special projects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred.
- ERP system experience preferred.
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
