Cafeteria Monitor

To assist, monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch.

Education: HS diploma or HS diploma equivalency

Special Knowledge: Constructive and cooperative attitude toward the duties of the aide, the school, the staff and the students. Ability to communicate effectively

Salary Information: Paygrade: H1 Days: 165 Hours: 3 per day

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Monitor and supervise students in the cafeteria.
• Help students advance through the serving line and past the cashier.
• Maintain a lunchroom atmosphere of cheerfulness, cleanliness, orderliness and personal caring.
• Manage student behavior in the cafeteria and make discipline referrals to campus administration.
• Assist in clearing and wiping cafeteria tables.
• Help students exit the cafeteria and return to their classrooms in a safe and orderly manner.
• Attendance at work is an essential function.
• Other duties as assigned by the campus principal or designee.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Working Conditions: Pushing, walking, standing, specific visual and hearing requirements (monitoring students in cafeteria), constant noise. Maintain emotions during high stress environment
