About the Role


We're looking for a Foreman that will
focus on Mechanical Piping by leading, directing, and working alongside the project labor crew while coordinating the execution and completion of mechanical piping and construction labor tasks. This role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements, company standards, drawings, specifications, and applicable quality expectations.

This role will focus heavily on process piping, stainless steel piping, ductile iron piping, carbon steel piping, PVC and HDPE piping, buried utility piping, and pumping and process equipment connections. The Foreman - Process & Mechanical Piping supports daily field execution through layout coordination, installation sequencing, material staging, crew leadership, quality checks, testing support, and coordination with other trades to maintain productivity and project flow.

Core Responsibilities

• Team Leadership

• • Lead and develop the project labor team through training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Provide regular feedback through documented coaching sessions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear expectations for daily mechanical piping tasks, installation standards, productivity, and safety.
  • Support crew members in understanding proper installation methods for process piping, stainless steel piping, ductile iron piping, carbon steel piping, PVC piping, HDPE piping, buried utility piping, and related mechanical systems.

• Project Coordination

• • Coordinate task schedules and ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Supervise daily activities of the crew, ensuring productivity goals are met.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and other trade partners to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient worksite.
  • Coordinate piping installation activities with project schedules, drawings, specifications, material deliveries, equipment access, and trade sequencing.
  • Assist with layout coordination, pipe routing, trenching coordination, bedding, backfill coordination, hangers, supports, sleeves, penetrations, valves, fittings, restraints, and equipment tie-ins.
  • Support coordination of pumping and process equipment connections, including alignment with piping layouts, equipment pads, access requirements, and project sequencing.
  • Communicate material needs, coordination conflicts, field conditions, installation concerns, and testing requirements to project leadership.
  • Support coordination between piping scopes and adjacent work, including civil, structural, concrete, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, equipment installation, and controls.

• Safety Management

• • Ensure adherence to the company's worksite safety program.
  • Identify and report unsafe behavior or hazardous conditions promptly.
  • Reinforce a safety-first culture across the crew and subcontractors.
  • Promote safe work practices related to piping installation, material handling, lifting, rigging, hot work, confined spaces, elevated work, and equipment use.
  • Ensure crews use appropriate PPE, tools, equipment, and safe installation methods for assigned piping tasks.
  • Support safe execution of buried utility piping work, including awareness of excavation hazards, utility conflicts, trench protection, access, and housekeeping.

• Operational Excellence

• • Support and drive utilization of company initiatives and technologies.
  • Ensure work complies with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and applicable process and mechanical piping requirements.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of work performed, manpower, materials, equipment usage, and production progress.
  • Monitor installed piping work for alignment, fit-up, elevation, slope, thrust restraint, support spacing, embed coordination, equipment connection requirements, and general quality standards.
  • Assist with inspections, testing preparation, pressure testing, flushing, punch list work, and corrective actions related to piping scopes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve crew efficiency, reduce rework, maintain material readiness, and support timely completion of piping activities.
  • Confirm piping materials, fittings, valves, gaskets, supports, restraints, and related components are available and staged to support planned work.
  • Coordinate with project leadership when drawings, specifications, field conditions, or equipment connection requirements conflict with planned installation.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Trade school certificate, apprenticeship training, or equivalent mechanical piping experience preferred.
• 5+ years of construction experience, with experience in process piping, mechanical piping, utility piping, or related field work preferred.
• Experience with stainless steel piping, ductile iron piping, carbon steel piping, PVC piping, HDPE piping, buried utility piping, and pumping or process equipment connections preferred.
• Experience coordinating installation of pipe, valves, fittings, hangers, supports, sleeves, penetrations, restraints, utility tie-ins, and equipment connections preferred.
• Experience supporting piping installation, testing, inspection preparation, punch list completion, and corrective work preferred.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, piping plans, isometrics, specifications, equipment layouts, and project schedules preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and basic project technology platforms.
• Ability to coordinate daily crew activities and communicate effectively with supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams.

• Strong understanding of jobsite safety expectations and safe work practices related to piping installation, excavation, material handling, hot work, rigging, and pressure testing.
