Job Description:

- Position: Med-Surg/Oncology Nurse
- Shift: 07:00-19:00
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hrs
- Start Date: 12/14
- Location: Independence, Missouri
- Unit Information:
- Floor: 6th
- Number of Beds: 36
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Staffing Description:
- Clinical Care Coordinators
- RNs, LPNs, PCTs
- Unit Secretary
- Type of Equipment:
- I-med
- I-mobile
- Neurons (vitals machine)
- Glucometer
- PCA
- Wound vac
- Chest Tubes
- Surgical Drains
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Patient Type: Med Surg/Oncology/Hospice patients
- Also accept hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring with no interventions
- Unit Policies: See attached guidelines

- Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend
- Dress Code: Nurses Pewter (gray), PCT Caribbean Blue

- Typical Procedures Performed:
- Wound Vac changes
- Drain Removal
- IV/PICC line insertion/removal
- Foley insertion/removal
- NG insertion/removal

- Floating Areas: Med-Surg and Telemetry (Med-Surg level patients)
- Weekends and On-call: No call; every third weekend
