SOC Watchfloor Analyst - Cybersecurity Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client in Huntsville, AL that is seeking a SOC Watchfloor Analyst - Cybersecurity Analyst for a long-term contract role. This company offers excellent growth potential within a mission-critical federal program.

Overview:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Cybersecurity Analyst to support a high-visibility, mission-critical initiative. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in cybersecurity who are ready to take on more responsibility and contribute to the protection of vital systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor computer networks for potential security threats and vulnerabilities
* Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents and breaches
* Document incidents and assess the scope and impact of security events
* Collaborate with the security team to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
* Remediate identified vulnerabilities to uphold a high-security posture
* Recommend and implement IT security best practices, including the deployment of firewalls and encryption technologies
* Perform forensic analysis, validate intrusion data, and create secure duplicates of compromised files
* Decrypt data and deliver technical summaries and insights
* Analyze recovered data using techniques such as timeline reconstruction, statistical analysis, and file signature review
* Provide real-time cyber defense support and assist deployable Incident Response Teams (IRTs)

REQUIREMENTS:
* Splunk Enterprise Security experience
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
* Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
