ASCP Certified Endoscopy Technician

Job Summary: The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in supporting physicians and registered nurses during endoscopic procedures by providing skilled assistance and ensuring all instruments and supplies are properly maintained. This position involves preparing and monitoring equipment, cleaning and sterilizing endoscopes, and assisting with specimen collection following established protocols. Essential Responsibilities: Assist physicians with procedural tasks during endoscopy. Monitor and process instruments and equipment in accordance with practice standards and guidelines. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize endoscopes and related accessories. Collect tissue specimens as per protocol. Support registered nurses with patient care and transportation. Prioritize tasks effectively and adjust priorities as needed. Education and Experience: Completion of an Endoscopy Technician program or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) credential is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates with 1-2 years of relevant experience are favored. Licensure and Certifications: Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a CST is preferred. Work Shift: Day shift, typically 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, full-time schedule.
