Essential Job Functions

• Supervise and coordinate work activities of personnel, and organizes and monitors workflow
• Manage the daily production schedules in all of card manufacturing
• Communicate maintenance issues to Production Manager and Maintenance Department to ensure timely repair of machinery
• Review and answer issues concerning quality or functionality of product
• Track and review waste from production process to ensure efficient material use. Complete detailed production reports consisting of a daily shift summary and data entry of completed production.
• Complete basic human resource duties such as time keeping (payroll), vacation approvals and employee evaluations.
• Resolves personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by training and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures, including safety and quality standards.
• Train and mentor production staff to enhance skills and efficiency.
• Perform these and other duties as assigned by Production Manager or other appropriate management personnel.
• Work extended hours as needed to meet customer needs.
• Helps identify improvement opportunities and leads or facilitates teams in driving progress and improvements in the manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.

Associates degree is preferred.

• Basic math and reading skills
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to operate forklift and pallet jacks
• Basic computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be able to learn production and labor reporting systems in order to accurately track labor efficiencies and utilization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and comprehend. The employee is required to stand for extended periods, walk and use hands for grasping and fine manipulation. The employee will be required to reach with hands and arms and must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Employee must be able to regularly push and pull loads using a pallet jack. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus and distinguish colors from one another.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in an indoor setting with variable temperature conditions. The employee will be working around moving equipment and machinery and will occasionally be required to use hazardous chemicals with appropriate, required personal protective equipment. The employee may be exposed to minimal chemical smells and paper dust. The employee must be prepared to respond to emergencies should they occur. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
