Medical Technologists (Multiple Openings)

MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST (Multiple Openiungs) DuBois Regional Medical Center d/b/a Penn Highlands DuBois seeks Medical Technologists (Multiple Openings) to work in DuBois, PA, and perform complex medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Duties include, among others: (i) receiving patient specimens and performing both qualitative & quantitative tests according to documented policy and procedures; (ii) performing maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment as required by policy; (iii) performing required quality control and calibrations and taking appropriate documented remedial action when the quality control is not within limits; and (iv) establishing procedures for new laboratory resting to be introduced into the Laboratory. Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Medical Laboratory Science or a directly related field. Must also be able to work independently on afternoon and night shifts as well as possess an ICHP VisaScreen Certificate, if applicable. Must also have American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist. Work Location: 100 Hospital Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801 Qualifications Other information: Degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred Must be trained and registered as a Medical Technologist with ASCP or AMT required within one year of hire Good reasoning and communication skills with the ability to multi task If you hold a certificate that does not expire - you must be a member with either ASCP or AMT. If you are on a maintenance program with expiration -- you are not required to be a member but must maintain your certification.
