Maintenance Assistant The Carriages of Mt. Zion is growing our TEAM and we are looking for exceptional individuals to fill our Maintenance Assistant position. The Maintenance Assistant is required to keep the residence and grounds in good repair in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations; maintain a clean and safe environment for residents; prepare vacant rooms/apartments for new residents and respond promptly to all repair needs. WHAT WE OFFER Full Time employees Receive: Medical, Dental, & Vision Insurance HSA Flex Short Term Disability, Voluntary Life and AD&D, Critical Illness, Accident Paid Time Off RESPONSIBILITIES Perform general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, painting, drywall, and light electrical work. Maintain the residence, common areas, and grounds in a clean, safe, and well-maintained condition. Prepare vacant rooms or apartments for new residents. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and repair needs. Follow all safety, fire, and OSHA guidelines, including proper handling of materials and equipment. Provide safe transportation for residents to appointments, outings, and activities. Assist residents when entering and exiting vehicles, including use of wheelchair lifts when needed. Complete routine inspections and report any safety concerns or needed repairs. Support a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, and staff. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of one year of general maintenance experience. Experience with drywall, plumbing, painting, and light electrical work. Ability to be a self-starter and make independent decisions. Capable of following through with projects with minimal assistance after explanation and demonstration if needed. This job requires a high school diploma. A full criminal background check, fingerprinting, physical, drug test, and TB testing are mandatory. Must be able to work weekends OTHER REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of Safety and fire codes. OSHA andMSDS sheets. Familiarity with memory care residents preferred. On-call rotation every other week once acclimated to the community, with possible on-site weekend rotation if needed. Hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
