School Nurse (RN) All Boroughs

Compensation Hourly Rate $65-$75 hourly Locations: (all 5 boroughs) Staten Island, Manhattan, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens.

Position Summary: A school nurse supports the physical, mental, and emotional health of students by providing medical care, managing chronic conditions, and responding to health emergencies. They also promote wellness, maintain health records, and work with families and school staff to ensure students are healthy and ready to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Providing basic medical care
• Treating minor injuries and illnesses
• Administering medications prescribed by healthcare providers
• Managing emergencies such as asthma attacks, allergic reactions, seizures, or injuries
• Supporting students with diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, ADHD, and other conditions
• Creating and monitoring individualized healthcare plans.
• Keeping confidential medical documentation
• Recording treatments and incidents.
• Informing parents about health concerns or emergencies
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers

Requirements:

• Current New York State RN license
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Must have current BLS/CPR card, Malpractice Insurance, and Physical
• Full medical clearance including COVID-19 vaccination

Skills:

• Must have at least 1 year of RN experience in any field
• Pediatric experience is preferred, but not mandatory
• Strong clinical skills to provide medical care, respond to emergencies, administer medications, and manage student health conditions safely.
• Good communication, organization, problem-solving, empathy, and teamwork skills to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and healthcare providers.
