- Manage litigated matters in partnership with external legal counsel
- Manage disputes lodged with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) and other external complaints bodies
- Provide legal advice and support to the Claims and Underwriting teams, as well as other business areas as required
- Deliver training and legal guidance to Claims and Underwriting stakeholders
- Provide legal advice and support to Risk and Compliance on matters relating to the Life Insurance Code of Practice
- Support the Internal Dispute Resolution team with legal advice and guidance
- Partner with other Legal teams to review product documentation and a range of commercial agreements and documents
- Admission to practise law in Australia with at least 3 years' post qualification experience
- Experience working within financial services or another regulated industry
- Knowledge of insurance law and its practical application in a business environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Law
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a collaborative approach to working with others
- Well-developed organisation, time management and prioritisation skills, with a proactive mindset
