Human Resources (HR) Manager

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to provide steady operational support across people functions and business administration in Asheville, North Carolina. This Contract position is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day HR processes, maintain compliance, and keep essential administrative workflows moving efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The role will partner closely with leadership to support employees, contractors, and core organizational systems while handling sensitive information with professionalism and sound judgment.Responsibilities:• Lead the day-to-day administration of HR practices, answer routine employee questions, and elevate complex or sensitive matters to senior leadership when appropriate.• Oversee compliance activities related to employment regulations, required registrations, insurance programs, workplace notices, and other recurring federal and state obligations.• Maintain accurate personnel documentation for employees and independent contractors, ensuring records are current, organized, and handled confidentially.• Manage hiring logistics, support applicant tracking activities, and coordinate onboarding, orientation, separations, and offboarding steps for new and departing workers.• Administer benefits processes such as enrollments, updates, and terminations while partnering with payroll and external providers to keep deductions and records accurate.• Support payroll-related HR operations by monitoring time and leave data, preparing recurring inputs, and coordinating employee reimbursement information.• Track leave usage for employees and long-term contractors, and assist with HR administration involving multi-state or international employment vendors and service providers.• Maintain performance review schedules, preserve review documentation, and coordinate employee survey administration and summary reporting when needed.• Provide operational and administrative support through records management, agreement preparation, executive scheduling, meeting coordination, and interpreter or translator arrangements as required.• Administer access to business systems, assist with user onboarding and offboarding in technology platforms, troubleshoot basic access issues, and coordinate procurement and tracking of computer equipment.
